Jeppe in Trouble again.

Hello guys.

Today, or actually right now, i'm very depressed. Because i can't find my raincoat! And it's raining. The actual thought of not having a raincoat doesn't bother me, but this one was a gift from my mother for my birthday, which means that i haven't even had it for 1 month, and i haven't even used it very much yet.
I've checked alot of places, in my room, the drawing school, the animation workshop, everywhere, it doesn't show. I know i had it thursday, but i can't remember where i brought it since! Damn. My last hope is, that it's hanging at me teacher Marias place, next to where i live. If not, well, i suppose i'll have to put up notes.

I'm just so depressed about this.

Besides this, there's a minor reveloution at the animation workshop. It's a long story, but the short verison is, that many teachers here believe, that when you're a student, you don't have a life. Your life is studying, and thats what your days and weekends should be filled with, and the students here are getting tired of being beaten on the head, because they "only" spend 1(whole) day doing their homework (we're probably talking 8-10 hours here), and are complaining, that the school shouldn't dominate their weekends. So, our little community is in a upstirr(der er uorden i det).

Well thats all for this little post. I'm on my own this week, since Artëm is in Italy, and the students have a guest teacher, so i'm going to make my own schedule.

See you.

Back again.

Hi everyone! Back again, after a long time. I'll only be showing you stuff today, last week was a holiday for everyone except the Drawing School, so everything was deserted and booring and nothing happened.

So, here, on the right, is my new cap("kasket", på dansk). Before it said "Dr. Pepper" but Artëm changed it into "Dr. Rapper". He made it himself. It's yellow. Not much to be said about it. The "Rapper" part... well. In my first year at the drawing school, Artëm made a portrait of me, where he wrote "to very clever boy peper". So first i suppose it was a joke about that, and then i told him i used to make rap when i was younger, så he changed it while laughing.

And here is my painting of my cap. In yellow. It's actually after a painting of Van Gogh, called "Van Gogh's chair", and this picture will be "Jeppes yellow cap". It's not done yet, but so far very good. What you should notice is the strong contrast between the cold yellow color, and the blue-black background. The darker side of the cap is a little more into ocher(okker) which is a much warmer color. And the green simply goes very well with the yellow.

And this one is a nude study of a man. I only started for 3 hours, and continueing tomorrow. So far, allright, but i need to fix a lot. I was very unfocused last time i worked.
And this, i don't know if i showed it allready. It's of a young model called Nicco we had some time ago. It's actually a very good picture, but i need to correct the leg that is furthest away form us (his left leg) since the color and shape is not good at all. But good besides that.

And this, this is my masterpiece. It's a stilllife/stilleben, almost as tall as me. It's VERY hard, but very rewarding work also, i love working on it. I''ve been dong it a long time now, and it keeps getting harder, but i'm optimistic. Generally, the point was that i should try out different colors of blue at the same picture. Artëm says i'm a colorist, that i see many colors very easy, so i suppose he wanted to test me.

And here, another nude study. very fast done, 6 hours i think, but also, could've been worse, although i would've liked 2-3 more hours on it.

And in the end, one of my own. I don't have a name for it yet, it's still not done. For colors. The red and green go very well togother, and then the yellow and black(hole of the mouth). Here, yellow works as a white, so they are in contrast, and a movement goes from top left corner, down to bottom left corner. The mouth can be seen as a mouth, or as an eye actually.

Thats it for this time guys. On a sidenote, any of the studys here, i used from 6-15 hours so far, and the ones i did on my own, probably 1-4 hours so far.

I'll write again tomorrow to tell about whats actually going on. See you.

Birthday day.

Hello everyone. So, today is my birthday. It started out very good this morning, some of the guys(eh girls mostly) came knocking on my door around 7.30 (dissapointed to find out i was already up and about), bringing cake, food and presents. I got: 1 pornmovie, which involved a very embarassing story about Israel and an automat machine outside a kiosk braking, 1 bottleopener (which i had borrowed the night before) and a sweater someone forgot at one of the girls place... great presents, and even better morning! And when the paper from the presents fell on the candlelight, we had our own little(big) campfire in my room! Very cosy, and only mildly dangerous. Great morning!

Today i was teaching the whole day, but the other class. Not Artëms, as usually. The teacher of the other class is going somewhere each wednesday so i take the class there. And i did morning gymnastics with the whole drawingschool.

Anyway, here's some of the pictures i did. First one is of a boy we were drawing. I think it was 9 hours. But as you see (or not) it's not finished. Nevermind.

This one of an elderly man we had for model, but before the one of the boy.

And this one, in bad quality, an older study of some stuff. Stilleben, if you want to be technical.

Also i've done some stuff of my own, but most of it is at the library, along with some drawings, as the students here are doing a small exhibition, so i joined in.

I'm afraid thats all i have to offer for now. I will, of course, show you some of my own stuff, as soon as it's done.
Anyway, tomorrow i'm comming to copenhagen, so see some of you there!
Over and out.

West-coast Weekend.

This weekend was spent at the west coast (of Jylland) at a place called "Kirsten Kjær Museeum". It's also the place where Artëm (also) lives (besides here on the school). It's just outside of Frøstrup, and just next to the Frøstrup Lejren (which is like a country version of Christiania). It's a really nice place, where many artists are living, some all the time, some from time to time. And Artëm is exhibiting at the museum most of the time, along with many other painters and sculptists.
I went there with Artëm, Israel, a Russian friend of Artëms, and 2 girls from the class, who're british and turkish (thats right, i was the only dane on the trip)

The trip was spendt with really good food (Artëm is a wonderful cook, and the british girl made english breakfest... yummie!), collecting mushrooms in the forest meditating at the beach (as you can see on the photo), visiting the museeum, going to old german bunkers and drinking and laughing in the evenings. We also visited a friend of Artëms at the Frøstup Lejren. The weekend was, all in all, superb. Really good!

Here we have everybodys favourite Mexican, at the beach. It's his birthday tomorrow the 4th of october (for you, Monty!), and i bet he's very excited at the picture. The beach was so nice, and there were all these old bunkers from the 2nd World War (which were very good for climbing fun!).

Last week, we finished, and performed, at project Artëm had given everybody, called "Kill A Tree". The mission was to think of as many different possible ways to kill a tree as possible, and then make a grafic image out of it. And the wrap it around the trees.
So that's what we did, basically. And some journalist interviewed Artëm about it. There were some really good ideas in between.

This one, for example.

It's a worn eating the tree, in case you can't see. A good example of a graphic design!

Today i have a meeting with the party comitee, and later i have spanish. Phew. Lots of plans today, but it's good. I will post again soon, i hope, with more news.

Take care everyone.
